I continue to improve Headroom—both its functionality and performance—and still struggle a bit with marketing. I’m starting to feel like I need to reboot and rethink my marketing strategy, maybe shift my focus more toward the post-release flow. Yes, I said something similar last week, but this week I finally realized that marketing isn’t a one-night effort.
But this week, I want to talk about features—and WWDC25. It’s happening already next week, and I have a few expectations from the upcoming updates.
WWDC25: Operating Systems, Dev Tools, and the Usual
I’m not expecting much from this year’s updates. The rumors about the redesign of iOS and macOS aren’t new—they’ve come up before. And now everyone is talking about the version numbers. Why 26 and not 25? It’ll be confusing for the first couple of months, but eventually, everything will settle.
But there’s one rumor I’m genuinely excited about: a possible partnership between Apple and Anthropic. If that happens, we might see Claude AI integrated into Xcode. Apple already has a clear design vision for how to integrate AI into their tools. The current smart suggestions aren’t perfect, but they’re better than nothing. This could finally give us a usable copilot experience in Xcode.
We’ll discuss all the updates next week. As usual, I’m not expecting anything—but I’m hoping Apple will surprise us. The iOS development community is built on hope.
Headroom Updates
No big news this week, but I’m actively working on two main features:
Opening episodes from an RSS feed (if they were published outside Headroom)
Creating audio trailers for your episodes
